KAPWA SANCTUARY: The Hero's Journey | December
Time & Location
About the Event
Joseph Campbell once said, "A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself."
The Hero's Journey is the classic story structure coined by Joseph Cambell in 1949. It is a structure reflected in much of popular media (from Star Wars to Lion King) (Source: Hero's Journey 101). We can gain powerful insights from this mythology as it is reflected in our own lives.
At our December Kapwa Sanctuary we explore the 3 stages and 12 parts of the journey and inquire 1) where we see ourselves fit in and 2) how we may see our personal journey as the next evolution of our ancestors.
Kapwa Sanctuary is a co-created space. This means that all members are invited to share space through music, poetry, spoken word and any form of creation. *If you would like to share your art, please let us know by Friday December 11th*
WHAT TO EXPECT? Tasha Jade @tjdailymagic, Holistic Healer and Educator and Stefanie Rico @stefanieannerico Psychotherapist and Yoga Teacher, have curated an experience for Filipinx folx who want to explore their Ancestry and deepen their connection to Kapwa, a sense of connection and seeing ourselves within each other.
Together we co-create this Sacred Space. You will learn about Lunar Cycles and the specific astrology reading of this New Moon, embody intuitive movement through yoga and breathwork, and practice integration through reflective journaling. Explore your “loob”, inner self, within the sacred container of Kapwa.
TJ is a seasoned practitioner with an impressive background of Holistic Healing practices that include Reiki, Tarot, Sound Healing, and Integrative Nutrition. Stefanie has studied the mind-body connection for years, though feels she is just beginning her exploration into the metaphysical. After receiving transformational energy work and feeling a deepening connection to lunar cycles, Stefanie is expanding her learning of integrated wellbeing through the lens of psychology and spirituality.
FOR WHO? For all Filipinx folx who seek a deeper connection to themselves and ancestral roots.
